Computer Science A (9-12)

This workshop focuses on curriculum that will introduce students to software engineering and object-oriented design while learning the Java programming language. The Code.org CSA curriculum is recommended for any high school student who wants to continue their computer science education after completing an introductory course, such as CS Principles or CS Discoveries. Complete the 5-day summer program, along with 8 virtual follow up sessions in your region (on Saturdays), with continued professional development and resources.

CodeWV offers full scholarships for West Virginia teachers who join the CSA workshop this summer. It includes teaching materials, workshop supplies, nine days of professional development, and meals. Additional travel costs, such as lodging and mileage, are covered as needed.

This course is approved as an AP Summer Institute by the West Virginia Department of Education and the College Board.
